PAC Backs Govt to Roll Out AstraZeneca Vaccine

The Public Affairs Committee PAC has backed the Government on plans to roll out the Covid-19 vaccine and warned to reprimand in public all religious groups that will preach against the exercise.
Spokesperson for the quasi-religious body Bishop Gilford Matonga has told Zodiak Online that all religious groupings have been consulted on the developments of the vaccine to be rolled out this March.
"Most of our members have already started disseminating information to their followers about the vaccine. We just want to protect people in the country,” said Bishop Matonga.
Minister of Information Gospel Kazako is on record to have said Government will not force its citizens to access the vaccine saying misconception surrounding its negatively is empty
Public Health Expert Dorothy Ngoma says there is a need for a massive campaign on the vaccine for the citizenry to understand it fully.
Said Ngoma, "government should go flat out with messages that will clear misunderstandings which some people have on the vaccine."
The Government of Malawi will start receiving Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine this February and first jabs will be given to frontline workers and those with some underlying conditions among others will be given from March this year.
