2 Arrested For Cultivating Indian Hemp

Police in Ntchisi have arrested 2 men for cultivating cannabis Sativa (Indian hemp) without licence.

Ntchisi police publicist sub-inspector Richard Kaponda has identified the duo as Dalireni Mwale aged 30 and Lameck Maliko aged 22.

He says Police received a tip from well-wishers, and upon carrying an investigation the two were arrested.

The team of Police led by Ntchisi Detectives went to the scene at Lombwa village and uprooted the 34, plants of Cannabis Sativa.

The Suspects that were also found with 8, twists of illicit drug will appear before court soon.

The India hemp will be taken to Chitedze research station, to prove its authenticity.

Dalireni Mwale comes from Lombwa village traditional authority Kalumo, while Lameck Maliko hails from Mauwa village in the area of traditional authority Malenga.
