Almost two years the last session of Youth Parliament was held in the country, Parliament says will next month April start preparations to convene the same this year.
Parliament Spokesperson, Ian Mwenye told Zodiak Online that among others the preparations will see the selection of Youth Parliamentarians and the dates of their meeting.
"We halted Youth Parliament preparations last year due to fresh presidential election. However, beginning next month, as parliament we are ready to start the preparations," said Mwenye.
Youth Activist Peter Mumba has urged authorities to select youth representatives on merit and avoid politics to lead the process.
"For the past years, we have seen selected youths fail to represent their counterparts due to political interference. We hope the coming process will be on merit," said Mumba.
