Mr. Fote Masawu a man from Kapanda village, Traditional Authority Tambala in Dedza has expressed worry over the delay by managers of Thuma forest reserve to compensate him after being shot by their forest guards.

Masawu told Zodiak Online that since his hand was amputated, he is struggling to work on his farm and to find money to support his family.

"My life is no longer the same, am failing to take care of my family since my hand was amputated after being shot, l need assistance," said Masawu.

Mr. Masawu was shot on 27 September 2020 when some villagers were apprehended by forest guards for alleged encroachment, Masawu and some men followed the guards to negotiate with them to release their fellow villagers but disagreement erupted and he was shot.

He is since pleading with Organisations fighting for people's rights to intervene on his matter so that he can be assisted.
