The Anti Corruption Bureau - ACB says corrupt practice in the country is more of a pandemic that needs a holistic approach from all stakeholders to eliminate the vice.

ACB's Senior Public Education Officer, Jonathan Chisale told Zodiak Online that with the status quo, empowering local structures on report mechanism remains crucial against the same.

"People have legitimatized corruption in the country. It has become a habit for every individual to be involved in the vice a development which is worrying," Chisale said.

He has then challenged the citizenry to report any suspected corrupt practice to the bureau to act arguing whistleblowers are well protected.

Chairperson's for Ntonda Anti Corruption Club, Emmanuel Konde and Traditional Authority (T/A) Phambala, Area Development Committee, Herbert Wandawanda both feels corruption is counterproductive as it hinders development.

"Corruption is a threat to development aa such communities need to take a leading role in sensitizing fellow citizenry on evils of the vice," they lamented.

Recently, ACB says since July 2020 the bureau has received over 300 complaints and requires the bureau to investigate.
