The rainy season is here and police officers manning roadblocks always find it hard to effectively discharge duties.

But for Tsangano Police Roadblock in Ntcheu the story is different as Victoria Forex Bureau has constructed a police shelter there.

A representative for the Bureau, Hopeson Chisi, said they believe in making law enforcers work simple hence spending K3. 5 million to construct and procure furniture for the facility.

"As a company, we feel duty bound to assist our police officers in making sure they are working in a secure and conducive environment for them to effectively discharge duties," said Chisi.

However, Chisi said the initiative is on-going and intends to construct similar facilities in all roadblocks across the country.

Ntcheu Police Station Operations Officer, Tommy Tenganani, says the facility was timely.

"During rainy season, it has always been difficult for our officers to enhance security at the checkpoint due unconducive environment. However, the facility has come at a right time as we need it most," said Tenganani.
