81 Foreign Nationals Nabbed for Illegal Stay
The department of Immigration and Citizenship services has deported eight foreign nationals and 73 others being investigated after they were apprehended during the festive season for being in the country without permits.
The 81 are from neighboring countries, the eastern part of Africa and Asians.
National Public Relations Officer for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship services Wellington Chiponde has told us this was done following operations working on intelligence and tips.
While commending the department, Security expert Aubrey Kabisala says this shows that the country is being challenged in management of immigrants, further tipping government to strengthen security bilateral talks with neighboring countries.
Meanwhile, 8 of the immigrants have been deported and 73 are being investigated.
From the list, 23 were in the southern region, 38 in the north, and 20 in the central region.
