The man, Isaiah Mandomba, was asleep in the house during the incident.
His wife, Eunice Lingtone, as well as three, kids aged 4, 6, and 7, survived with minor injuries.
“I felt something heavy on my body. I called for help to no avail. Later, a neighbor came to assist us. Right now, I feel somebody pains,” said Lingtone.
An uncle to the deceased was the first person to notice that the Mandomba family members had been involved in the accident.
He said he was shocked to see in the morning that the house which had five family members, had collapsed.
Results of a medical examination conducted at Kapiri Health Centre in the district, indicate that death was due to suffocation.
The four survivors have since been treated as outpatients at the same health facility.
