Local organization, Future4All Malawi has responded to Tropical Storm Ana survivors in Ntcheu by donating blankets to 53 people under Group Village Head - GVH Dzoole, Inkosi Kwataine in the district.

The organization’s Director, Lemani Ngaiyaye told Zodiak Online that the survivors need an urgent response as the storm left many families homeless in the district.

“Tropical Storm Ana effects are devastating. Many people have been left homeless hence responding to the same,” said Ngaiyaye.

GVH Dzoole hailed the donation as timely.

“This is a timely response to my subjects as a majority are seeking refuge in relative homes and others in shabby temporary shelters,” he said.

Ntcheu District Disaster and Rehabilitation Officer, Jonathan Kapatsa called on partners to emulate the gesture arguing government alone can not afford to meet the needs of all affected families.

In Ntcheu, 7 thousand households are destitute while two people were killed and 28 others were left with injuries due to the effects of January’s Tropical Storm Ana.
