10 Thousand Youths to be Trained in Technology by Celestial City
Malawi government through the Ministry of Labour has received a proposal from Celestial City that will see more youths in the country be trained and eventually be employed.
Celestial City, an initial song offering platform built on Web 3.0 is the third generation of internet services for websites and applications that will focus on using a machine-based understanding of data to provide a data-driven and semantic web.
The proposal which seeks to train 10, 000 youths in the country was presented to the ministry by Celestial City Country representative, Penjani Kalua, popularly known as Fredokiss in music cycles.
Minister of Labour, Vera Kamtukule said her ministry recognizes the potential of the creative industry and its ability in job creation that the government has been championing.
Kamtukule added that the proposal works perfectly with government objectives of spurring the creation of jobs among the youthful population which is in majority.
“Celestial City Country Representative, Penjani Kalua said he was happy that government of Malawi saw the importance of the proposal and accepted it.
"Government has warmly accepted our proposal. I feel we all have a part to play, we need to be counted and be a light in the dark. I am looking forward to the implementation of this project and to seeing youths benefiting," said Kalua.
Celestial City is headed by Former Vodacom Executive, Dr. Nkechi Newton and has a roster of industry veterans including Global Creative Marketing Executive at Netflix, Tamara Johnson.
Malawi is championing job creation as part of the fulfillment of campaign promises prior to June 2020 Fresh Presidential Elections.
