The Ministry of Trade and Industry has emphasized the need to boost agriculture commodities in order to stimulate growth in domestic and exports of goods and services.

Minister responsible, Mark Katsonga Phiri, made the sentiments in Lilongwe on Tuesday after an engagement with the visiting Executive Director for African Agriculture Transformation Initiative (AATI),  Safia Boly.

"We have not been doing well in Agriculture and manufacturing but with AATI support we will easily achieve our dream in transforming Agriculture," Katsonga said.

He also hinted that their discussion also focused on how Malawi can explore opportunities of her products on the international markets.

"We are producing various products that lack a well certified market on the global market and with the visiting delegation will assist us to secure certified markets," Katsonga added.

Boly stressed on the need to embrace policies that can transform Malawi's Agriculture sector.
