The company has since pledged to raise the prizes in the 2023 National Spelling Bee Season.

The 2022 Malawi National Spelling Bee Finals that took place on 2nd July, 2022 in Blantyre.

The contest this year had three categories and produced three champions namely:

Adella Flao - Seniors (Secondary) Category Champion from Atsikana Pa Ulendo Girls Secondary School of Lilongwe; Yobu Mandala - Rural Junior Champion from Kasangu Primary School in Kasangadzi in Dowa and Miracle Labeka - Juniors (primary) Urban Champion from Diversity Academy of Chikwawa.

Meanwhile, apart from raising the prizes, Victoria Forex Bureau Limited has committed to continue supporting the Malawi government, through the Malawi National Spelling Bee, with the whole sponsorship package expected to be raised from the initial MK5million for this year.

The National Spelling Bee competition is supported in Malawi by the Ministry of Education, World Vision International, Zodiak Broadcasting Station as an official media partner, Grand Palace, Crown Hotel and Golden Peacock Hotel, National Library Service and Super Maheu.

At the heart of the Spelling Bee is the desire to improve literacy levels in Malawi, building a reading culture and cognitive skills in children.

Victoria Forex Bureau Limited has also promised to support the African Spelling Bee event with undisclosed amount of money.

The African Spelling Bee will take place in December this year in Blantyre with children from over 20 countries participating.

Meanwhile, organisers of the Malawi National Spelling Bee have announced  that  registration of schools and children for the 2023 National Spelling Bee Season is underway.
