AFORD Still Contemplating on Alliance Partner
Alliance for Democracy President Enock Chihana says they have not made a decision on a possible alliance partner for the 2025 general elections.
Chihana has told Zodiak that the party's elective conference slated for 6th September in Lilongwe will be vital in determining their strategy for the forthcoming elections.
Chihana has told Zodiak that their elective conference will determine the party's future by accommodating capable candidates in different positions.
"We are upbeat that the convention will analyze some of the key reforms which we have been undertaking for the las three years," Chihana added.
Political scientist Yamikani Chitete has advised AFORD leadership not to focus on tribes or regions when appointing leaders in various positions.
"We are expecting the AFORD leadership to have a proper strategy ahead of the 2025 tripartite elections by electing capable leaders," Chitete said.
As the country gears up for the 2025 elections two major political parties Malawi Congress (MCP) and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) have already conducted their convention and AFORD will be the third to carry out a similar exercise.
