6 Drown in Thyolo in 2 Weeks
At least six drowning deaths have been reported in Thyolo in the past two weeks.
Thyolo Police Spokesperson, Su Inspector Amos Tione, told Zodiak Online that some cases involved men who were crossing flooded rivers while drunk while others are minors bathing in rivers.
“We have also recorded five sudden deaths within the same period mainly due to drinking on empty stomachs,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police PRO says police have intensified sensitization meetings on prevention of drowning and sudden deaths.
