Leo Prince Chilupya from Zambia and Leo Naphtali Chilenga, Leo President for district 412 B comprising Malawi and Mozambique, say young people are the future of every country.

Leo Prince Chilupsya said at a three-day leadership conference at Chancellor College in Zomba that the youth have the great potential of making meaningful impact to national developments through provision of workforce and innovative ideas.

He, however, challenged the youth to be realistic in the demands for their involvement by being exemplary.

Chilenga said, nonetheless, the youth lack leadership skills to make impact in minimizing social economic challenges and climate change effects African countries are grappling with; hence the training.

He asked young people to ensure they are making their communities a better place to live by among others ensuring that trees are not being cut wantonly and where the trees have been cut, people should replant.

"We engage in activities that empower the youth because we believe we are the future of today and the leadership conference is centered on community service," said Chilenga.

The leadership conference drew 65 participants from Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
