After a long wait for the arrival of the global leader of the Seventh day Adventist Church, Adventist community in Malawi is set to welcome Pastor Ted Wilson who is slated to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe this Friday.

According to the programme of Wilson’s visit released by the Malawi Union Conference, plane carrying the global leader is expected to touch down at the airport 12:30 PM.

As per local tradition, Pastor Wilson will proceed to Lilongwe Civic Office to sign the visitors’ book at 13:30hrs and avail himself to the city mayor, before visiting the MUC where he will lead a tree planting event.

While in the country, the Church’s president will have an audience with the state president, Peter Mutharika, at Kamuzu palace in Lilongwe.

The presidential visit will hit the climax on Saturday when the global leader will lead Adventists and non-Adventists into big Sabbath prayers scheduled to take place at the Bingu National Stadium in Malawi capital, Lilongwe, from 8:30 in the morning.

Those unable to physically patronize the big Sabbath at the stadium will have an opportunity to follow every bit of the prayers live through the country's radios, televisions and Facebook live streaming.

Before flying out of the country back home on Monday, Pastor Wilson will on Sunday visit Malamulo Mission in Thyolo district, one of the church’s historical places in the country, before proceeding to Blantyre Adventist Hospital in the country’s commercial city, Blantyre.

The pastor will also have time to witness for himself and feel the beauty of the calendar lake of stars, Lake Malawi, in Salima on Sunday.

He will depart through KIA.

This is the first visit of Pastor Wilson to Malawi since assuming presidency during the 59th General Conference Session in Atlanta, Georgia.

Wilson was re-elected to the office of president at the 60th General Conference Session on July 3, 2015, at the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
