District Police Publicist, Sergeant Dickson Matemba, told Zodiak on Wednesday that the incident occurred at Ngabu area when the man identified as Chitoleni Njobvu enticed the girls who were coming from school with roasted maize.

Sergeant Matemba said the learners were coming from school and stopped at one of the victims' house to drink water.

"While there, Njobvu invited the girls to a nearby house where he enticed them with roasted maize and defiled them," he said.

Police explained that the girls were threatened not to reveal the issue but one of the victims told her mother what had happened.

Medical examinations at Ngabu Rural Hospital confirmed that the girls were defiled.

Njobvu comes from Misongwe village Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa district. He is currently on the run. Once arrested, he will face defilement charges, contrary to Section 138 of the Penal Code.

Police records show that two months ago, another man defiled three girls in a roll in Saopa village TA Ngabu in the district.
