Lilian Patel told journalists after touring the newly constructed Chikwawa Community College at Ngabu area on Tuesday afternoon that once put in place, the policy will motivate many young people to develop new ideas to contribute in national development.

"What is lacking at the newly constructed Chikwawa Community College is water and electricity and as a ministry we are working on these with urgency," said Patel.

She said is not sure on when the college will open as the country is currently taking strict measures against the spread of the corona virus.

"Let us take all measures to avoid the spread of this dangerous corona virus which has killed a lot of people in the world. Let's us wash hands with soap all the time," the minister said.

Teveta Board Chairperson, Gilbert Chilinde, says they are closely working with all relevant authorities to make sure that the new college has required equipment and tutors.

While commending government for constructing the college, Group village head man Misongwe asked government to see to it that majority of those that will be enrolled at the college are from Chikwawa.

Government has spent slightly over 600 million kwacha to construct Chikwawa Community College which is located in Ngabu area.
