Barely two weeks after donating COVID-19 sanitary materials to Mulanje District Hospital, Plan International Malawi has bailed out the facility with assorted Personal Protective Equipment to help workers in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

These include face masks, surgical caps, gloves, gumboots and Ebola suits.

While commending PLAN International Malawi for the project, Coordinator for Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response at the Hospital, Masilina Msamanyada, asked for more of such help from other well-wishers.

“As you are aware, Mulanje registered its first case a week ago, so our team is on the ground tracing contacts and ensure that the virus does not spread further in the district,” said Msamanyada.

Area Program Manager for Plan International Malawi-Mulanje Office, Hilda Chidzule, said with resources available, the organization will continue responding to the hospital’s calls on COVID-19 support.

“As a child centered organization, we are interested to see a coronavirus free nation and we will continue mobilizing resources towards COVID-19 prevention and awareness,” said Chidzule.

Apart from the PPEs, the organization also donated two infrared thermometers, chlorine and hand sanitizers.
