Mulanje Boma AMO Cheers Vulnerable Households at Mukhwera Village

Besides spreading the word of God through preaching and singing, the Adventist Men Organization (AMO) of Mulanje Boma Seventh-Day Adventist Church also assists vulnerable households.

On Sunday, the organization donated assorted items like sugar, salt, soap, soya pieces and cloths to the elderly and other poor families at Mukhwera village in traditional authority Mabuka in Mulanje district.

Little Banda, one of the AMO members hinted the other support is towards prevention of COVID-19.

“What we have done here is just continuing and doing what Jesus Christ taught us and by sharing with these people it does not mean that we have plenty but we just thought of sharing the little we have with others,” said Banda.

He further said beneficiaries were identified by village headwoman Mukhwera herself and not all are SDA members.

“For us to reach out to these families, we raised funds through individual contributions from men in our church, others contributed items like soap and cloths,” said Banda.

Village head Mukhwera thanked the organization for assisting poor households in her village and she urged other church groupings to emulate the gesture the AMO demonstrated.

“Am sure it is God who sent these SDA men here. I therefore ask God himself to bless you all,” said VH Mukhwera.

Before presenting the donation, Mr. Crispin Dzinziye share with the gathering the word of God followed by two powerful songs from AMO.
