9 Year Old Boy Acquires Cane Furniture Weaving Skills
With thousands learners gotten into early marriages and some impregnated during the past months schools have been closed due to Covid 19, a nine year old boy has acquired a new skill within the same period.
Fidel Chigwembere of Kiddies Grammar School in Balaka is already making good cash through weaving cane furniture.
Fidel whom Zodiak Online found at his home in Majiga 2 location in Balaka on Friday, says his neighbor a Mr. Moses survives on making and selling cane furniture, and imparted the skill on him.
"My neighbor taught me this weaving skill in two days, and am now able to make small coffee tables which am selling at a minimum of a thousand kwacha each," said Fidel.
As schools are about to reopen, Fidel says he will advance this skill during weekends so that it should not compromise his education.
Fidel's mother Gloria Chisamba says she is impressed with her son's skill and will encourage him alongside his education.
