Road Accident Kills 3 at Zalewa
Three people have died while six others have sustained serious degrees of injuries at Zalewa road block accident on Monday when a salon vehicle driven by unknown driver lost control and hit pedestrians and two mobile money bureaus.
According to Neno Police publicist Sergeant Joshua Jalasi, the speeding vehicle which was coming from the direction of Mdeka heading to Zalewa on the M1 road when its driver lost control of his vehicle and plunge into two TNM mpamba agent bureaus.
"The accident happened yesterday Monday along Zalewa Lilongwe M1 road when unknown driver with a passenger on board swerved extremely off side the road and hit these TNM mpamba agent bureaus injuring its occupants", said Sergent Jalasi.
He says a Subaru Samber vehicle bearing a registration number BT 6208 driven by the unknown driver upon reaching zalewa roadblock lost control due to over speeding and in the process swerved extremely off side the road where he hit Mr Yusufu Makwinja to death and other unknown two females who also died on the spot.
"The deceased people had suffered multiple fractures ranging from fractured leg, head injuries and crutched abdomen, according to hospital details", said Jalasi.
Jalasi further says the vehicle proceed to hit two TNM mpamba agent bereaus injuring its occupants Mr Stobery Mambere and his customer Mr Wonderful Kasenda and another agent Mrs Enet Chikulo who all have been referred to Queen Elizabeth central hospital and Lisungwi community hospital for treatment.
