Some angry People have stormed the District council's office in Chikwawa to push the DC to replace Sub T/A Masache.

The villagers comprising the elderly have been singing and beating drums since morning demanding that their Chief be fired.

They are accusing the chief of ill-treating his subjects.

One the concerned people MacDonald Mcheka alleges that Sub TA Masache destroyed houses of orphans in Masache area a few months and that authorities have been very quiet without taking any action.

"We are tired of this Chief's behaviour. Some years ago, he destroyed 13 houses.

After coming out from prison he uprooted crops of a certain man and now he has damaged houses of orphans," said Mcheka.

He says they now want the District Commissioner to take action.

Mcheka and his henchmen have also been fighting Sub TA Masache accusing him of not being a right person to be on the position.

DC Ali Phiri who is not around has told us in a telephone interview that officials will meet the people to hear their concerns and map the way forward.

"We will hear them. I don't fire Chiefs. It is only the Present who does that after getting necessary information," said Phiri.

Masache area is situated some 70 kilometers far South from the District Commissioner office.
