The Malawi Polytechnic has called on graduates of the City and Guilds Systems Support Diploma and Advanced Diploma to be proactive and change the technology world.

The College’s City and Guilds Coordinator, Dr. Thokozani Chimkono, said this on Friday when the College graduated twenty four students in ICT System support and Professional Skills in Networking.

“The young ladies and gentlemen who have graduated today have been trained not only in theory but also practical and entrepreneurial skills.

“We have challenges in employment these days. We have trained these graduates in a way that apart from being employed, they should be able to start their own businesses, manage accounts and marketing issues,” he said.

One of the graduates, Maggie Chilomo, who has graduated with an Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems Support, says employers should not undermine fresh graduates based years of experience.

“Fresh graduates have a lot to offer to the companies. All in all, we are also well trained to be employers ourselves,” she said.
