Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) employees should wait a little longer for the migration of the payroll into government’s Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS) as the secretariat says it is still compiling a report following a head count.

Once the payroll migration process is completed, it will curb salary delays in CHAM health facilities.

CHAM Spokesperson, Michael Phiri, says the Association's secretariat in partnership with the ministry of health and finance conducted a joint head count to ascertain the number of employees before migration of the pay roll.

"We are working on a report following a head count exercise which was completed in December last year in all CHAM health facilities," said Phiri.

Meanwhile, Chairperson for Concerned Christian Health Association of Malawi Workers Taskforce, John Nsapato, says the Association’s secretariat is yet to respond to their concerns.

Nsapato said; "the taskforce is planning to remind the secretariat so that it should respond to their grievances."

In August 2020, the Taskforce penned its secretariat to address some of the challenges that include failure to harmonize salaries and pension benefits with government health workers and delay in accessing monthly salaries among others.
