At least 450 people have been arrested for contravening COVID-19 prevention and containment rules and regulations in three weeks across the country.

The arrests come three weeks since government gazzetted additional COVID-19 prevention and containment rules and regulations.

National Police Spokesperson, James Kadadzera, says “the 450 people were arrested for failing to wear face masks in public, opening and closing of bars and bottle stores before 2 O’clock in the afternoon and 8 O’clock in the evening and carrying passengers beyond set capacity of minibuses.”

Kadadzera has warned that police will not spare anyone found contravening the set regulations.
