FDH Bank has constructed an extension block at Ndirande Police Station in an effort to address office space challenges at the station.

The Bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Elias Ngalande, says they have strong working relationship with Malawi Police Service and greatly value the work police does to ensure safe business environment.

“The extension building has cost K22.8 million and the furniture K3.3 million, making it a total cost of K6. 1 million.

“FDH group has done this to ensure that the officers have a conducive working environment as they carry out their work that protects our customers, our businesses and create a safe and better society,’ he said.

South West Police Commissioner, Chikondi Chingaza, says inadequate space has been one of biggest challenges rocking the station.

She called on the community surrounding the facility to own it and exercise their responsibility to take care of it.

“The block will make a great difference in serving people of Ndirande and Nyambadwe. The increased space will increase standard of services that we give out to the community.

“My word to people of Ndirande and Nyambadwe is to take good care of their police. If they have disagreements with police or individual officer, they should use dialogue rather than vandalism,” she said.
