This comes after the organization noticed that a lot of people are not seeking treatment in fear of being tested for Covid-19 due to similar signs and symptoms.

Neno PACHI Project Coordinator, Russell Msiska, told Zodiak Online today Friday that, for example, Neno is on position 3 in registering more cases of Malaria.

"This is worrisome as we don't border any lakeshore district," says Msiska.

Neno District Hospital Malaria Coordinator, Brazilio Mose, attributes the rise in malarial cases to improper use of mosquito nets and people's reluctance to seek early medical care.

He says in this year's quarter alone, Neno DHO has registered thirty-six thousand confirmed cases of Malaria with fifteen deaths.

"We appeal to people to use mosquito nets properly while also making sure that their surroundings are always clean. The figures being registered are alarming and we hope these faith leaders will help us spread the word on malarial prevention and clear myths on Covid-19", he said.

One faith leader, Reverend M'mangisa, commended PACHI for the engagement.

He said faith leaders are key players in the fight against Covid-19 misconceptions and they will preach on early medical seeking behaviors to help counter the challenges being faced.
