She said this on Sunday during special prayers organized for the people at Namputa Prayer House.

“While relatives have a duty to take care of you, try as much as you can to protect yourself by adhering to COVID-19 prevention measures like wearing face masks, observing social distances and washing hands regularly,” she said.

Evangelist Mbeta also condemned attacks and killing of the elderly on witchcraft accusations.

“You know the elders are sources of wisdom and we need them in our families, communities, churches, and it is therefore evil to attack them on unfounded issues,” said the evangelist.

Later the evangelist had lunch with over 100 elderlies who attended the prayers.
