FDH Bank Managing Director has urged Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) finalist students to create employment opportunities in the country instead of waiting for companies and industries to employ them.

Speaking yesterday at Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre during the symposium, FDH Managing Director, George Chitera, told the upcoming graduates to come up with creative ideas that will help them create companies.

“This is a wonderful and disciplined group, looking at the presentations they have made today, they have gone through the entire process and have acquired the knowledge and are ready to go into the market.

“But what I can say to them, they should think outside the box, they shouldn’t just think about employment but rather they should be thinking of creating employment. They can create employment with ideas rather than going door to door looking for employment.

“They should use the knowledge they have acquired over the years into practice,” Chitera said.

Meanwhile, Thokozile Makawa, Business Communication Finalist Student, says she has confronted challenges during their time of study at the university and that they are now prepared to go out and show their skills they have acquired during their studies.

“The journey has been challenging, a lot of ups and downs, but all in all, I thank God because he has led me through,” she said.

MUBAS conducted a symposium for the final year’s student in the faculty of education and Media Studies, which includes 4 programs on the theme of Technology and Innovation emphasizing on the Hub of an Educated, informed and economically developed nation.

The Event that was sponsored by TNM, National Bank, MACRA, and other companies.
