Goal Malawi has asked for a holistic approach to end myths and misinformation about COVID 19 vaccines in order to convince majority of Malawians to receive the jab in the country.

Goal Malawi's Health Coordinator, Lonnex Chaluwita, told Zodiak during a training in Zomba that for Malawi to achieve the herd immunity, there is need to scale up efforts at all levels.

"We know that the media is very important in encouraging people to receive the jab.

"Chiefs and religious leaders have to take an active role in sensitizing rural masses to receive the Covid 19 vaccine," said Chaluwita.

He has since called on journalists to be vigilant in writing positive stories that will motivate more rural people to get vaccinated.

"I urge you to write news articles that will protect people from catching the pandemic. Let us do more to civic educate the people on the importance of the vaccine," he explained.

Blantyre District Health Office Spokesperson, Chrissy Banda, has implored journalists to work hard in supporting efforts curbing Covid 19 pandemic.

The media training which Goal Malawi organized is funded by European union and USA Embassy.
