The district's Police Spokesperson, Agnes Zalakoma, identified the student as Huseni Magulu,19.

According to Zalakoma, Huseni committed suicide at around 9 am.

"Brief facts of the case are that today on 08/11/21 at around 08:00hrs, Huseni prepared breakfast for the family and then after he was seen taking a chair into his bedroom saying he was going for studies.

"After some time, his mother called him but there wasn't any response which made the reporter follow him to his room and discovered that he had hanged himself to the roof of a house using a rope.

"The matter was reported to Nsanje police station whereby police accompanied by a clinical officer from Nsanje district hospital, visited the scene of the crime and confirmed the death was caused by strangulation."

Meanwhile, the reason behind the suicide is unknown.

Huseni Magulu hailed from Chapilira village in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia in Nsanje district.
