He says, in response to deal with the malpractice, they have been notifying the prospective students about the scam using school coordinators.

He says they situation is under control as no any other cases has been reported so far.

"We have put measures to avoid such malpractice from happening again. We have coordinator who are always on alert to inform the students whenever they suspect such practices," added Msasa.

Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, Felix Misomali says most people have fallen victim to the tricksters due to the excitement that comes with the messages thy receive.

He says the police are working with network providers to apprehend the culprits with most of them in the country's prisons.

"We know where the culprits are, we are working underground to capture whoever has a hand in these malpractices," Misomali said.
