Speaking to Zodiak, Traditional Authority Mchinguza says the area has been experiencing a lot of criminal activities like human trafficking, child marriages and murder cases but when suspects are caught by the police, they are only given bail due to unavailability of a court.
The Chief has however pleaded with government and other organizations to help in construction of a court in at his headquarters which will help tighten security in the area as convicts will be punished accordingly.
"If they construct a court around my headquarters, it would be easy for cases to be solved right here. This would help justice to prevail," said T/A Mchinguza.
"As you know, in bordering areas like these, criminal activities are always rampant, and we deserve a court of our own to help fast track cases," he added.
Meanwhile, Registrar of High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal, Gladys Gondwe says her institution has set aside a five-year plan to rehabilitate and expand already existing courts and construct new court structures in areas that have no courts.
"We have a five-year plan to renovate some court old structures and even construct some new structures in areas where the courts are needed," said Gondwe.
