Chitsime has told Zodiak that the district has also embarked on a door to door campaign to meet the 84, 000 target.
He has since appealed to people in Balaka to work together to have all children vaccinated to prevent paralysis in under5 children.
"Everything is substantiated to good collaboration between the Balaka District Council and partners and we hope to hit our target by Thursday," said a confident Chitsime.
Balaka has for the past two days since launching the polio vaccination campaign vaccinated more than 20,000 under5 children.
Malawi is doing a nationwide polio vaccination campaign after one case was recorded in Lilongwe early this month.
