Police in Thyolo have asked estate guards to be professional and desist from mob justice.

Thyolo Police Officer in-Charge Ulemu Kaluwa, said, security guards should be of high integrity by respecting the rule of law.

Kaluwa has condemned the use of reasonable force in injuring suspects that encroach the estates.

This came out on Thursday during a meeting between Thyolo police and Nchima Tea Estates guards on tips to protect the company property amid growing reports of torture on locals encroaching the estates.

Nchima estates security coordinator Benson Khondiwa, lamented increased theft and vandalism of estates property.
