PIH Launches Staff Wellness Day

Partners in Health has launched Wellness Day in Neno district to raise awareness to staff members on the benefits of seeking early mental health care and strengthen their physical being.

One of PIH senior staff, Basimenye Nhlema, told Zodiak on Wednesday that a lot of people in the country are facing challenges but lack where to seek care and counseling.

"We as PIH we take care of people in mental health and other services but we leave behind our staff who are also like any other person; hence, organizing this day for them to interact and get mental health help," said Nhlema.

Nhlema further said that staff members anywhere who are mentally prepared do deliver hence it was very important for staff in essential service delivery to be of sound mind for effective execution of their duties.

PIH Executive Director Dr. Lackson Dullie encouraged people in offices to spare time for social interactions and seek mental help when faced with a problem.

"People in offices need to be healthy and be exemplary to others. This helps companies to grow", said Dullie.

In his remarks, Madock Masina who took part in football and got screened for High Blood Pressure, said the idea of bringing together members of staff members is ideal since they exchange knowledge and grow organisations aspirations.

Partners in Health provides phyco-social support to many people in Neno district as part of growing productive citizens for the district’s development.

The day according to PIH is an ongoing.
