Mambala, a former secondary school teacher herself, told Zodiak that she aspires to improve education standards and literacy levels in her constituency.
"I've been doing this for two years now and it feels so liberating to interact with children of this age so they can work hard and become productive citizens also," said Mambala.
Mambala has always been accompanied by her husband who also conducts sessions with the pupils on these school visits where she also gives out gifts like ballpoint pens, notebooks, and packs of food among others.
District Education Manager for Balaka, Ignitious Kameni has observed the initiative by the legislator is inspiring pupils and community members.
"Those are the people she lives with in the community and by so doing children become inspired and motivated to always show up at school," said Kameni.
Balaka has 167 primary schools only 61 schools on feeding program and enrolment of 64,335 boys and 67, 350 girls for 2021-2022 academic year.
