Thyolo Crime Down by 10%, Suicide Up by 89%
Thyolo police has registered a 10 percent crime decline with suicide cases up by 89 percent from January to July 2022.
Spokesperson for the district police Amos Tione told Zodiak Online on Thursday that the crime decrease is due to intensified interventions such as patrols and community sensitizations.
However, Tione indicated that this period they have captured 11 homicide cases up from 6 cases recorded last year.
He has attributed this to marital problems, excessive beer drinking and lack of interest to seek advice by the communities when facing with situations.
