World Vision International Exits Nkaya

world Vision International (WVI) has finished its works in the areas of traditional authorities Nkaya and Phimbi in Balaka district after being there for 15 years.

At least, 26, 225 rural households have benefitted from social protections programmes implemented by the organization.

WVI National Director, Francis Dube, says having a transformed community where women and children are empowered remains their core business.

“For example, stunting has gone down from 49.7% in 2008 to 30% in 2021; a 30% reduction of malaria incidences, with 10,750 people gaining  access to safe and potable water from 43 new boreholes,” he said.

Minister of Local Government Blessings Chinsinga lauded the organization for setting the tone towards Malawi’s realization of it’s 2030 development agenda.

On Thursday, the minister presided over the closure of the projects in the district.
