First Capital Bank says it has donated K20 million to Presidential Charity initiative to assist flood survivors and needy students in higher learning institutions with fees as one way of giving back to the community.

The bank’s Chief Executive Officer Spiro Georgopoulos told the media on Friday in Blantyre that his bank is committed to support youth development especially in sports in the country.

"The Presidential Golf Charity initiative is specifically focusing on youth development especially in sports development," he said.

Blantyre Sports Club golf captain and Presidential committee member Chimwemwe Chimwaza thanked the gesture by the bank saying the donation will assist many lives.

"As a committee we are very thankful as First Capital Bank did not hesitate to support us and we know that many lives will be touched by this donation," Chimwaza said.

Chimwaza believes that this initiative will help many Malawians who were hit by Tropical storm Ana during last rain season.
