Luchenza Police Rescue Suspected Thieves

Police in Luchenza in Thyolo have rescued from a mob three suspected armed robbers who attacked a businessman and robbed him K550, 000 and groceries in the wee hours of Monday.

Luchenza Police Officer In-Charge Emmanuel Chisoma has told Zodiak Online on Monday that last night, a group of criminals armed with dangerous tools robbed George Kambalame of cash, wrappers  and groceries at Makoka in Khonjeni, Matewere village, Traditional Authority Kapichi in the district.

Chisoma says after that, "Kapichi Business Watch and communities pursued them up to Waluma village in Thyolo where they managed to catch and assault the suspects Ganizani Kamuna, Peter Wales and Steve Junior Charles all from the district", he said.

He said it took Luchenza police to rescue the three who were assaulted and left with multiple wounds, but were treated as out-patients.

Luchenza Police OC alleges that the three were on their way to Blantyre where they reside.

Currently, investigation  is underway on the matter.
