The district's police deputy publicist, Rabecca Kashoti, said "It is true we have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder case but investigations are under way."

Kashoti has since identified the suspected assailants as Yamikani Bwanali aged 18, Kondwani Manyawa, 18, both from Chaone village, Traditional Authority Chimaliro in the district.

The deceased, Ayana Wyson aged 84 and Belita Iron, 65, were found dead in their home at Waluna village, Traditional Authority Chimaliro in the district while gagged, their legs and arms bound with a mosquito net and covered with cloth.
