65-Year-Old Nsanje Woman Killed

Unknown assailants last night killed a 65 year old woman, Malita Liva Tchapo from Lambwe 2 village, under Traditional Authority Malemia in Nsanje district, police have confirmed.
The district’s Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma, says “the unknown thugs stabbed Malita with a sharp object and died on spot while her husband, Faranando Liva, was severely wounded.”
Sub Inspector Zalakoma added that “it is reported that at around 00:00 hours, Malita and her husband were sleeping before unknown criminals broke into their house. They demanded money whilst assaulting the two.”
She says postmortem has revealed that death was due to severe loss of blood as a result of head injuries.
The man is currently admitted to Nsanje District Hospital where he is receiving treatment, according to Sub Inspector, Zalakoma
