Medics Remove a Stone from Woman's Cervix in Thyolo

In a bizarre occurrence, health workers at Thekerani health center in Thyolo have extracted a stone which was found in a cervix of a 67-year-old woman.
The facility's labour section In-Charge, Kingstone Fly, has confirmed to Zodiak Online on Saturday that the woman had reported to the facility with some abdominal pains which they later discovered was due to the stone, large enough to fit in a palm of an adult (about six centimetres in diameter).
Fly says the stone was initially discovered when the woman visited a herbalist following the pains.
"I can confirm about the stone but a woman was non-pregnant. She started feeling abnominal pains at home and they invited a herbalist who said that she had a stone in the cervix. They tried their best to remove it there but they failed.
"When they came here, we found that it was really a stone. So we tried together with the herbalist who was telling us what to do to extract the stone," Fly said.
Currently, he the woman is reportedly well and has been discharged from the facility.
However, medical professionals are yet to assertain the exact nature of the stone after scanning it.
In 2009, a 20-year-old Mulanje woman also delivered a 300 gram stone at Mulanje District Hospital.
