Mphinga told Zodiak Online on Tuesday that the situation has been reported to the Department of Disaster Management Affairs and that they are monitoring the situation while asking the people to vacate their houses.
"We have received reports that several houses in the said areas are wet due to a heavy down since Friday, so our team has been rushed there to monitor the situation," said Mphinga.
He further appealed to the people to vacate their homes and seek shelter in higher and safer grounds as the Cyclone may not die down soon.
The relief officer is also saying that massive sensitisation has been intensified to avoid any loss of life and damage to property.
Earlier, Neno District Commissioner Hudson Kuphanga asked motorists to exercise caution when driving on the roads of Neno, which most have become impassable and slippery.
"People must go to safer places and where their houses are strong enough, they must remain indoors and that drivers must be careful on the roads," said the DC.
Roads have been cut off in the area of Senior chief Dambe rendering health service delivery almost impossible.
So far no fatality, injury and damage to houses has been reported in the district.
