Man U Jersey Leads Suspected Thief to the Owner

A stolen Manchester United jersey has helped Thyolo Police detectives to arrest a 25-year-old man, Cosmas Gift Kamanga on suspected burglary and theft offences.

Thyolo Police deputy publicist, Rabecca Kashoti told Zodiak Online on Thursday that Kamanga allegedly committed the offences on 27 and 30 March 2023 within Magombo village in the district.

Kashoti alleged that on March 27, 2023, Kamanga broke into a house of Kelvin Chabwera and stole one Samsung plasma, power bank, Nokia phone, plastic containers and remote controls valued at K405, 000.

She also suspected that Kamanga stole Samsung plasma, remote control, external hard drive, pair of shoes all totaling to K598, 000, including the Manchester United jersey.

However, it is reported that after some days, the accused wore it and the owner of the items, Rolent Frank recognised it which led to the recovery of some items.

He will appear in court soon to answer house breaking and theft changes.

The suspect comes from Chilambe village, Traditional Authority Ngolongoliwa in the district.
