SHA for More Funding After Rebranding

Self Help Africa (SHA) formerly United Purpose (UP) says it’s rebranding to SHA will help the organization mobilize more funds for the implementation of its projects across the country.

Consortium Director of Social Support Resilient (SoSuRe) Programme under SHA Ester Mweso speaking on Thursday during the District Executive Committee meeting in Mulanje said the organization will maintain all the projects they were implementing under UP.

“We have rebranded because United Purpose has integrated with Self Help Africa and we came with one logo so we are informing our stakeholders and the general public about the new logo and that now we are known as Self Help Africa (SHA),” said Mweso. 

She said they working on new proposals and she assured people in Mulanje and other districts of more projects after the rebranding. 

Director of Planning and Development at Mulanje District Council Morrison Magombo told Zodiak Online that the council expects that the rebranding will enhance and strengthen the partnership and coordination between the council and SHA for the benefit of people in the district.

“We expect the organization to work with government structures at district and community levels as required by Government and all NGOs that are working in the district should be compliant to this requirement,” said Magombo.

During the meeting, SHA also launched its five year strategy which according to SHA Project Manager Rosemary Harawa Kabanga will provide support to the Government of Malawi to be self-reliant as per its Vision 2063.

Currently SHA is implementing SoSuRe Programme with support from European Union (EU).
