Director of Youth for the southern region, Yona Mlotha, expressed concerns that internal conflicts within the party could have a significant impact on the election results if not addressed promptly.

Mlotha said he is optimistic that these internal differences will be resolved in the near future, and discussions are already underway to address these issues.

"We are on the path to unity, actively engaging in discussions to mend the internal divisions within the party," said Mlotha

He stated during an event at Chimbiri Primary School ground in Phalombe.

The occasion was a political rally where the party introduced Tiaone Hendere as the shadow member of parliament for Phalombe South.

Mlotha explained that the incumbent parliamentarian for the constituency would not be contesting in the area due to changes in constituency boundaries by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC), necessitating the introduction of Hendere.

Bertha Nachuma, DPP's director of women affairs for the southern region, urged the residents of the district to continue their support for the party's quest to regain victory.

She encouraged people to register in large numbers when MEC opens the registration period, so they can vote for Professor Peter Mutharika in the 2025 elections.
