Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chief Elections Officer Sammy Alfandika Monday morning told the Constitutional Court hearing the historic Presidential Election Case that the Commission gave instructions to elections auditors DBO to approve tally sheets that were not signed for by party monitors during the 21 May Tripartite Elections.

Malawi Electoral Commission Chief Elections Officer, Sam Alfandika, yesterday told the constitutional court that his office wrote a letter to BDO Election Auditors advising them to certify tippexed results sheets after the Auditors refused to do the same. 

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has opened registration of voters and verification exercise for by-election for Lilongwe South Constituency and Matenje Ward By-elections.
